golf, golf, golf....and baseball

First of all, Happy 4th of July to everyone!

We are immersed in golf and baseball right now. Evan has played in three golf tournaments in the last two weeks. Two were Jr. Golf tourneys and one was the father/son. He had a shoot-out for third in one of the Jr. Golf tourneys. He had to play against a freshman in high school. The kid has an awesome drive, landed it about 10 feet from the pin and then sunk it for a birdie. E ended up with a double bogey. How do you explain to your kid that someday he might appreciate beating a guy 5 years younger than himself? Sad to say I really didn't want that freshman to have to go back and tell all his buddies that a 5th grader beat him. I guess once you're a mom, you're kind of a mom to everyone.

The girls are busy being girls. Haley has been playing tennis and just finished swim lessons. She is a really good swimmer. Don't know for sure where she got that, but I'm happy for her. Sophie is officially Miss Climber/Jumper 2008. That kid not only climbs on top of anything, but will jump off of it too. She's talking a lot more and loves to repeat what we say...scary!!

E&H leave for camp on Mon. They are very excited. Will be a bit lonely around the house for Sophie and me.
